Bible reading for 40.Day 2025 | Isaiah 41:13
When we were children, playing with Lego meant more than putting bricks together to build something. What made it special was that we played together, equally involved and invested in creating something. And when we were done, we would sit back and look at what we had built together and feel a deep joy.
To be All In for families means we don’t build alone, and we don’t leave anyone out. It’s not just the adults doing the important stuff while the kids watch from the sidelines.
Most importantly, we make space for God to work in us as we build our family.
Build and heal
We live in a world full of spiritual and emotional brokenness. All around, families experience strained relationships and marriages. But we believe in a God who doesn’t just watch from heaven – He reaches out His hand to help build and heal us.
Isaiah 41:13 says,
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.”
God is taking us by the hand and helping us build; He wants to hold us and help us build and heal.
In Mark 9, a desperate father brings a tormented son to Jesus. Verse 27 says, “Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up.” Jesus does not heal from afar, but He holds the hand of the boy.
In Mark 5:41, Jesus takes a little girl by the hand and says, “Little girl, get up.” She rises from the dead, and a young daughter is restored.
In Mark 1:31, the Bible records that Jesus takes Peter’s mother-in-law by the hand, lifts her up, and heals her.
From sons to daughters, mothers to fathers, Jesus holds and heals every generation.
We believe in a God who doesn’t just watch from heaven – He reaches out His hand to help build and heal us.
Bring it to Jesus
Whatever your family is facing today, whatever kind of brokenness you carry, bring it to Jesus. He says, “I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.” When He holds your hand, He also holds your healing.
After Jesus has held us, we’re called to hold each other. Because healing doesn’t stop with us – it flows through us. Jesus holds us so we can hold one another.
God is the Master Builder who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, “Do not fear; I will help you.”
God is not building with bricks; He’s building with lives, with families, and with generations.
God is not building with bricks; He’s building with lives, with families, and with generations.
And He’s not asking us to build it alone. He gives us the manual: His Word. He holds our hand, and He invites us into something far bigger than ourselves.
Even if you feel small – like a child looks for and hands over the bricks – you matter.
Every piece matters. Every generation matters. Every hand matters.
We are held by Jesus, and we’re holding each other.
We are All In to build the generations.
Let’s pray:
Dear Jesus, thank You for holding us, through every season, every struggle, every generation. Teach us to hold each other with that same love: In our families, across the generations, across the nation. Help us build what lasts. No more broken families, but holy generations. We say today: We are All In, for You and for one another. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflect:
1. How are we building our family? Have we unintentionally been doing it alone, yet feeling unappreciated for all our efforts?
2. What would it take to involve our entire family in the building of our household? What changes would we need to make in our routines and habits?
3. What does it mean to let God build our family? Would we be willing to let Him hold our hand and release healing into our lives and our families?
Pray:
1. No matter what problems and pain our family is facing today, no matter what brokenness we are dealing with, we can and must bring it to Jesus our Healer.
2. That we will always remember that God is the Master Builder of our lives and our families, and we can trust Him to hold and heal our family.
3. That every generational curse is broken and every generational hurt is healed, and that God will rule and reign over this and every generation to come.
