This workshop is for

• Music directors who desire to serve better as a MD
• Worship team members who are interested to learn how to direct music

Prerequisites

• Actively serving and have experience in a worship band
• Have basic musical awareness:
  • Able to play and stay in time
  • Understand song structure (verse, chorus, bridge)
• Comfortable with playing in a team
  • Have the experience playing with other musicians (not just a solo player)
  • Able to listen and blend with other musicians
• Teachable, leadership and openness
  • Willing to guide others with humility and patience
  • Willing to grow in spiritual maturity and emotional steadiness

About the instructor

Known online as @thatworshipkeyboardist, TK is a worship keyboardist, music director and artiste specialising in modern worship sound, band dynamics and atmosphere crafting. Active in both local and regional worship settings, he is recognised for his emphasis on tasteful playing, emotional interpretation and spiritual sensitivity in live worship environments. 

As a self-taught musician, TK has developed a distinctive approach to worship music education – one that integrates musicianship, spiritual posture, and practical band communication. He partners with worship leaders and churches to strengthen worship culture and elevate the sound of worship across Singapore and the region. 

TK currently serves as a keyboardist and music director with The Encounter, a local worship band in Singapore, and also ministers with the renowned Taiwanese worship ministry Stream of Praise 赞美之泉.  He also serves in his home church, Paya Lebar Chinese Methodist Church.

Date: Class 1 – May 6, 13, 20 and 25, 2026 (Wednesdays)
            Class 2 – October 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2026 (Wednesdays)

Time: 7.30pm-9 pm

About the organiser
The Methodist School of Music is a member of the Methodist Schools network. MSM was founded in 1997 as an agency of the Methodist Church in Singapore and is registered with the Ministry of Education.

Its three-fold thrust is to:
